When the new couple are paying for the wedding themselves instead of their parents, the wedding invitation wording can be read as followed:

You are cordially invited to celebrate
the wedding of
Brides
and
Groom
etc.
Or
Together with their parents,
Brides
and
Groom
request the honor of your presence
etc.
