Respond in a Timely Manner
When you receive your invitation, also there will has a response card or there is a rsvp date at the bottom of the invitation card, maybe there are have some reasons that you are decline to attend the couple’s wedding, when the couples receive the response card the guests return to them, so that the Happy Couple can prepare the food for the wedding etc.
And if you respond after the rsvp date which is as a bad manner, it’s even worse if you don’t replay and appear on the wedding. And it is inconvenience for the Happy Couple, maybe they couldn’t prepare meals and other amenities for you what is has prepared for all guests who attend the wedding in advance, and not think you are a guest, and the couple need to accommodate it for you.
Wedding Guest Etiquette
When you receive the invitation, on the envelops, if there are the “and guest” next to your name, which is mean that you can bring your friend or other people to the wedding, but if there is no the indication on the envelope, please do not assume it’s alright to do so. Maybe the couple don’t have the enough money to afford the extra people. And there is a special condition that you can bring the extra people when the people has invited is married or engaged etc. If there is no the “and guest” on your envelope, maybe the couple expect you to attend their wedding alone.
Also it is a bad manner of the wedding guest to call the bride or groom to ask whether you can bring a guest.
Be Considerate
If the couple want to hold their wedding at the church, when you are seated in the church, please don’t communicate with the person next to you or crack jokes with the person across the pew. And you should take consideration of the Happy Couple and all others in attendance.
Gifts
It’s not necessary to bring the gifts to the wedding, but the wedding present you chose for the Happy Couple which is indeed required. Maybe you will purchase the present much time in advance of the wedding and you are very happy to see the couple to receive them, also there are many guests choose to give monetary to the Happy Couple on the day of the wedding as the wedding present, also there are some people to send the presents to the couple very soon after the wedding. Whatever the way of the present you choose is fine. And if you are not want to attend the wedding, also you need to send the present which is still a l customary.
Behave Yourself
Maybe the couple wants to hold their reception at a open bar which is tempting, and don’t do something that is embarrassing to the Happy Couple and other guests. Maybe they don’t let you hold the liquor, they hope you can stay away from the bar area. And no people enjoys there is a drunken in the wedding. And this behavior is not only embarrass other people who attend the wedding, but also embarrass yourself.
A wedding should be enjoyable all the people who attend the wedding. And you need behave properly, which shows your respect for the bride and groom.
