To DO – I DO Wedding Invitations Tips
When ordering wedding invitations, it is important to do things right the first time. Wedding invitations need to be ordered well in advance and the selection can be surrounded with feelings of excitement that mean leaving out some of the most important details. Here are a few tips to make ordering your wedding invitations easier.
Order More Than You Need – It is always important to order more wedding invitations than you need. The minimum number of extra wedding invitations is 25. Depending on the total number of people being invited to the wedding, 50 to 100 extra could be a better number. If you end up with too many extra wedding invitations, frame them and offer them to guests as the wedding favors.
The Return Address on the Invitation – Just because the wedding is being held in New York does not mean that is the proper address for the return cards. Many couples assign the wedding list updates to a person or a wedding planning. The address for these people should be included as the return address and not the address of the wedding or the couple.
Be Organized – Think of the wedding invitations as a business. Start a spreadsheet with all the names and address of the people invited to the wedding. As the wedding invitation response cards start coming in – use the spreadsheet to keep track of those who will attend the wedding. This list can also be used for personal notes about seating arrangements and food preferences.
Check the Postage Charge. The response cards and wedding invitations need to be weighed before postage is applied. The more detailed the wedding invitations, the heavier they may be. This could increase the amount of postage needed to deliver the wedding invitations.
Getting the process of sending and accounting for wedding invitations right the first time is an important aspect of keeping the wedding planning stress free and enjoyable.
