Creative Ways to Add Fun to Your Cocktails
There are always ways to add some creativity and spunk to every part of your wedding, even the ones you may think can’t be personalized! Brides and grooms spend lots of time planning the menu for the cocktail hour, but what about the cocktails themselves? Here are some fun ways to make your cocktails unique:
1. To please a non-alcoholic crowd, serve flavored sodas, like Jones Sodas, which you can purchase in grocery stores on online.
2. Serve bottles of Coca Cola the old-fashioned way, with colorful straws.

3. This one will take a little work, but well worth it, especially for a garden wedding: Freeze tiny edible flowers or petals into ice cubes before the wedding. This would work especially well if you are having a backyard wedding!
4. Think internationally—serve sangria, or a variety of international beers, as your specialty drink.
5. Customized napkins are all the rage—but what about customized coasters? These durable cardboard items can serve as favors too. Print the recipe for your signature cocktail on the coaster, and your guests will want to take them home!
6. Have a juice bar, full of exotic juices like pineapple, mango, blueberry, etc.
7. Your guests may be used to seeing tables of lemonade and iced tea on hot wedding days, but why not have a table of hard lemonade and long island iced tea? Just make sure to put a sign announcing the drinks are alcoholic!
8. Put a colorful gumball at the bottom of each guest’s cocktail.
9. Put a stick of rock candy into each glass as a kind of swizzle stick.
10. Give wine charms as favors, but don’t put them at guests’ place settings. Instead, have your bartender attach them to wine glasses as they are ordered at the bar.
11. Serve upscale “jello shots” in the form of sangria gelees.
12. A great “bar snack”—popcorn! Have guests fill old-fashioned popcorn bags for a vintage vibe.
13. Infuse pitchers of water with fruits like lime slices and cucumber.
14. Make your drinks reflect the season. Some great winter ideas—white hot chocolate; apple cider; infusing drinks with peppermint or butterscotch; using candy canes as swizzle sticks.
Don’t ever doubt your capacity to be creative in all areas, and enjoy your celebration!

I was just talking with my friend about this the other day at the resturant. Don’t remember how we landed on the subject really, they brought it up. I do recall eating a amazing steak salad with cranberries on it. I digress…
